Upper Avenues Residence

Loci was hired to create conceptual landscape design plans for a private residence located on the crest of a hill overlooking downtown Salt Lake City. The landscape plans reflect the modern geometry of the architecture and the contemporary aesthetic sensibilities of the client.

Outdoor spaces are crafted to provide a variety of functions. The front garden provides a memorable approach to the home. The side yard is designed to be an outdoor dining room with a large dining table and a warm fireplace for entertaining on summer nights. A cascading water wall from the side yard leads to a lower patio while providing soothing white noise that mask the sounds of the neighborhood. An upper rear balcony terrace frames breathtaking views of downtown and the Salt Lake Valley for the residents and their guests. A translucent feature wall provides privacy from the public spaces for the master suite and an intimate breakfast patio. Accent lighting is embedded in paving throughout the gardens to light the landscape and wash the walls with an ethereal glow at night
