The Goldener Hirsch Inn

The Goldener Hirsch Inn is a recently expanded European-style ski chalet resort and residence situated above Park City. The Inn, designed by Olson Kundig architects, takes on a mountain-contemporary feeling with the same character carrying throughout the landscape and public spaces. At the central core of the Inn is a multi-functional plaza that serves anywhere from holding special events, weddings, cocktail parties, and the everyday activities for guests and residents alike. A decorative pool with a cascading waterfall divides the plaza into an intimate fire pit area tucked to the north and an informal café seating area with an outdoor living room to the south. The forms of the greater mountains surrounding Park City were brought into the space as an artful-undulating steel wall that stands as the plaza backdrop. Dense forest understory planting and native tree species tie the Goldener Hirsch Inn back into the neighboring mountain landscape.
