Station Center

Station Center is located in Salt Lake City directly between  the Intermodal Hub) and historic Rio Grande Depot Building – a historic train station and transit gateway into the City. FrontRunner (commuter rail), TRAX (light rail), city buses, Greyhound buses, Amtrak, GreenBike bike sharing  and a future street car all converge at the Intermodal Hub making this project site one of Salt Lake City’s premiere transit-oriented neighborhoods.

The master implementation strategy for these blocks envisions a retail festival street connecting the Intermodal Hub to the Rio Grande Depot. The street will be narrowed from its existing 132’ right-of-way down to a more pedestrian-friendly 85’ right-of-way. A new grid of mid-block streets will increase walkability and connectivity and create smaller city blocks that will more efficiently use the space available.
