Rowland Hall – Phase II
Rowland Hall is a private Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade school located in Salt Lake City. Loci was hired to design the landscape and outdoor environment for planned new middle school on their campus. The landscape is designed to perform multiple functions for students. Recreational spaces include basketball courts and direct access to adjoining soccer fields. Outdoor classrooms adjacent to laboratories promote experiential learning and direct contact with the environment. Outdoor dining spaces encourage students and faculty to get outside to enjoy warm, sunny afternoons. Art is rotated and included in the daily life of the campus on the outdoor gallery walk. A generous and welcoming student drop-off/pick-up area provides efficient movement of cars and buses while providing comfortable informal seating areas for gathering and for waiting students. Together these things provide for a memorable outdoor life for students on the campus.
